Antiquities, nearly always used in the plural in this sense, is a term for objects from Antiquity, especially the civilizations of the Mediterranean: the Classical antiquity of Greece and Rome, Ancient Egypt and the other Ancient Near Eastern cultures. Artifacts from earlier periods such as the Mesolithic, and other civilizations from Asia and elsewhere may also be covered by the term.

As usual, Tom Walsh and Pugwash elevate their music far beyond the mundane of today's pop - cellos at just the right places; hints of psychedelic; Jeff Lynne and the Beatles for sure, but it may be time for Mr. Walsh to dig a little deeper into his soul for the lyrics of his next release. And the musical wheels will need a little more sweep and symphony in order to pull out of the minor rut they find themselves. It's worth a buy for sure, especially if you long for the next Electric Light Orchestra. But as it stands, Eleven Modern Antiquities could've used an extra dose of it's own creativity elixir.

Thomas Walsh and his group of very talented musical friends cooked up a sumptuous musical feast fit for connoisseurs of quality music. The latest release from Pugwash, "Eleven Modern Antiquities" is a succulent, wholesome delicacy that will grow and become a part of you over time if it hasn't done so already. Everything on this album including the sound quality is so good that it almost feels as if Thomas and his close-knit circle of friends came out to my house, formed a circle around me and played live. The songs themselves as well as the song order also have a distinct circular flow to them. They sweep the listeners away to far away places and various emotional states of mind throughout the course of what feels like a day. The album opens with the sunny, guitar driven track "Take Me Away", which takes me away to a sunny morning and a warm blanket on a distant beach. How could it not with such a wonderful tribute to those unmistakable Beach Boy style harmonies toward the end of the song? It's a fun track to listen to and it paints mental pictures of liberation and freedom in my brain. "Cluster Bomb" on the other hand is a chamber pop classic, which represents the paralysis that love can cause. This is a very well orchestrated song that sends shivers down my spine as the strings and the zither spin mental circles in my mind. "Here" is a touching ballad that rivals any Beatles ballad with its lush instrumentation and lyrics about longing for someone. It penetrated my soul instantly with its slow, dissonantly magical chord progressions. The next track, "It's So Fine," is a fun, psychedelic ditty that provides the perfect interlude before "Song for You", the lyrically profound ballad about the afterlife, and wanting to sing songs better while living forever. "My Genius" relieves the tension from the previous track as it injects some fun and silliness into the song mix. This track paints a brilliant picture of happy hour giddiness that many people escape to with their alcoholic beverages of choice at the end of the day. It even has an old fashioned Caribbean vibe that is reminiscent of a memorable vacation to a tropical island. "Limerance" is another Beatlesque ballad with the perfect balance between the piano, the synthesizer and the guitars. "Your Friend" is a catchy melody about what it means to be a friend. "The Cannon and the Bell" puts me in a trance especially with its vocoder and driving strings in the middle of the song. "At the Sea", seems to have a circus vibe as it represents the end of a beautiful, sunny day at the beach and possibly even a beach boardwalk scene. I especially enjoyed the whistling, the kazoos and the chromatic scales throughout the whole song. It's the kind of song that I would associate with walking back to the car and loading it up with all of the beach gear after spending an entire day soaking up the summer sun. "Landsdowne Valley" is like the perfect ending to the perfect day with its reflective lyrics, emotion evoking dissonant chord progressions and climactic ending. Congratulations to Thomas Walsh and all of his friends especially Neil Hannon, my favorite artist in the entire world for creating such a magnificent masterpiece. Thomas is fortunate that he has such talented friends from around the world that collaborated with him on this musical effort. The end result is so much greater than the sum of all the parts. Thank you very much for the music and the inspiration from the bottom of my heart.

11 Modern Antiquities - Pugwash 2008 With the release of the excellent 'Jollity' in 2005 Irish band Pugwash set the benchmark for modern powerpop. They effortlessly mixed smart uptempo rockers with delicate ballads, presenting a beautifully poised and constructed set that quite frankly left the competition in the dust. Imagine if Oasis hadn't lost the plot after two albums - it was that good. So how does the astutely named '11 Modern Antiquities' stand up against it's mighty predecessor .... the good news is that Thomas Walsh and friends have done it again. With considerable style. From the stunning cover artwork to the perfectly realised running order the latest Pugwash opus is a masterpiece. It sounds every bit a polished as 'Jollity' but this time around the songs are even more accessible and, with the likes of The Divine Comedy's Neil Hannon and former Jellyfish man Jason Falkner on board, you can literally 'feel' the quality. Lead single 'Take Me Away' kicks off preceedings in fine style with it's McCartneyesque bass line and propolsive chorus, 'Your Friend' and the lovely lilting 'Here' both breath the same verified air as the Fab Four (complete with Harrison-like solo's) and 'It's So Fine' is pure Fountains Of Wayne. The experimental 'Limerance' even manages to sound like a lost Revolver out take - featuring an inventive Micheal Penn guitar solo. Lyrically this is once again top stuff - 'My Genius' and 'At The Sea' - both co-written with Andy Partridge are chock full of amusing and clever lines - so good you'll find yourself going back to the lyric booklet time and time again. It's also worth mentioning that the harmonies are Beachboy perfect, the production and orchestration (take a bow mr Dave Gregory) is lush and Walsh's expressive voice has never sounded better. So does '11 Modern Antiquities' have any faults - well the over-blown Sgt Pepperesque ending to the otherwise lovely 'Landsdowne Valley' seems to me a little obvious and Pugwash could yet again be accused of not exactly re-inventing the wheel - more re-visiting it. But with songs this good and, the sense that everyone involved in it's creation had such a great time, this is really just nit - picking. The best record of 2008 so far.

Eleven Modern Antiquities Take Me Away is a song that simply doesn't leave me. I purchased this CD prior to the release date to find out if the rest of the songs had the same effect. As a big Jeff Lynne fan I was hoping for Thomas Walsh to provide me new tunes that provided that same power pop beat. The CD just arrived. I highly recommend Cluster Bomb, My Genius, Limerance and Landsdowne Valley as the songs that have unpredictable melodies that will "take you away". It's fun discovering something new. Pugwash might be new for me but they remind me of what I've enjoyed for a long time.

It would be unwise not to mention The Beatles and Oasis. It would also be remiss not to mention Beach Boys and XTC. Irish band Pugwash might not cut the most original swathe through pop music, then, but neither do they deliver anything second- rate. While it's arguable that their music crosses the boundaries from homage to pastiche, the fact remains that everything here is so incredibly good that the influences tend to blur into something familiar yet utterly distinctive. Take Me Away, the first single and first track on the album, sets the tone: an instantly hummable tune that lodges in the head and refuses to budge. Most of the songs are written solely by Thomas Walsh (with occasional assist from Neil Hannon and XTC's Andy Partridge); the overall impression is that his songwriting heroes are matched line by line, melody by melody. Heard it all before? Yes, but this really is fab.

The Search for the Real Mt. Sinai [VHS] The Search for the Real Mt. Sinai [VHS]

In Orlando, FL. back in 1996, I was so fortunate to first meet Larry Williams teaching at an investment conference (Bob comments briefly on Larry's success in His particular investment specialty in the movie) . Unfortunately I ignored Larry's too brief and humble comment about a Mt. Sinai book he additionally had on his website. I was shocked on a particular Friday one year later when Larry's new book on investment charting I had ordered arrived at the door- the EXACT NIGHT the 700 CLUB was having a telethon. I woke-up just in time to see Bob Cornuke (and a video trailer with Larry by his side; both off in world explorers mode) talking with Lisa the co-host of the CLUB making this INCREDIBLE VIDEO, along with Its companion- The Mystery of the Ark of the Covenant, available to the viewers. Both documentary story-lines have been retold in other videos and TV specials. National Geographic has aired its own version of the story of the same gentleman who Bob interviews in the Ark of the Covenant video. These two videos, though, in my opinion are the best produced of all the versions. By all means get both and prepare to be AMAZED...especailly by the testamony of one of the very few living individuals who has actually seen the real Ark of the Convenant up close (!!!). (but you have to listen very, very carefully) I've almost wore out my copies. I wish these were available in DVD. Also know that (correct me if I have this info wrong) I believe James Watt is the original American who Larry and Bob refer to in the Mount Sinai story, who had been arrested and had the original photo evidence of His expedition to the Mount confiscated by government officials. On James's web site are/were a variety of photos of this Sinai mount at a distance. (If you can get alone, watch this story first with no one to distract you. Some individuals will never have the maturity to focus long enough to truely appreciate what is being presented.) Happy Biblical Exploring -JPC

I loved this video, but i implore everyone who's seen it to watch 'The Exodus revealed'to see where the real red sea crossing took place. Both videos agree on the true location of Mt Sinai but the latter shows another land bridge north of this one surrounded by submerged chariot wheels-incredible!So if you put both videos together you will get the complete truth.

How do you get your elementary school kids to sit through a documentary about how we can believe the Bible? This show is more like a detective story with a middle-eastern flair! You may need to discuss with your kids that the explorers did use deception to get into the country (not very easy). But except for that blemish, the documentary is a very high quailty production, and interesting. My kids were so excited about the video that they 1) Begged Grandma to watch it, 2)Wrote a letter to Cornuke & Williams, and 3) Love playing the board game, "THE LOST MOUNTAIN OF GOD" based on this video. Watch after reviewing the story of Moses and the Exodus. Keep a globe or world map handy for some geographical references. Family education/entertainment with a message that God is awesome and the Bible is true!

Simply put, this is something that should be seen by all people of faith. The bible comes alive, under the feet of a couple of guys with a camcorder, maps and a bible. It'll blow your youth group away.

This video will put you in awe of God's power. To actually see with your eyes the place where God came down and met with Moses is absolutely amazing! The evidence is so powerful that you know only God could have done it. I was so inspired that I went to the USGS website and bought two declassified spy photos that show the charred top of one of earths holiest sites.

wow! they don't teach you any of this in school, I must of watched this 5 times already. It will surprise you what the ENLIGHTENED ones have in store for America. Excellent, highly recommended.

This documentary is very good, with only a few criticisms: some really bad acting (especially in "Capt. William Morgan" segment), some repetitive use of acting segments and they do chase a couple of rabbit trails to nowhere. With that said, the documentary is well worth the money. There is GREAT information that you will not find in most documentaries regarding the founding of our nation and, I would guess, some information that you will not find anywhere--especially in such a quality program. I especially appreciated the information on Freemasonry. Most Americans probably have little or no knowledge about the influence of Francis Bacon on our founding. And I have met few who know the truth about William Shakespeare. (I have been called a "nut" when sharing this information, but they always backtrack when I mention Mark Twain's book and his well-established conclusions on the matter.) Most of us will want to watch this several times. I highly recommend this DVD.

Very interesting! I love this kind of information! I dont trust the government, and this video under scores my train of thought. I am pleased with my purchase, and am glad I watched it. Even happier I own it. This DVD is "underground' thinking, and most "sheeple" dont want to know. I DO. Give me facts- let ME decide.

If you really want to know the low-down on the true story of America's Secret Beginnings, then look no further. One warning though, this isn't what you learned in school, but its all sourced and documented. It'll change how you look at this country and the world forever.

This is a very interesting documentary. It covers so much that our history books have left out, and explains a lot of what goes on in our government. I highly recommend this video along with the second volume "Riddles in Stone".

I am a conspiracy theroist. I admit it, and this video is a banquet when it comes to "food for thought". Im glad I purchased it, and I will watch it often. I do recommend to others who dont believe all -is what it seems.

I have just finished watch this DVD and I was amazed. I have been aware of some of the details that the doco covered but I was amazed at the detail and depth of the material. The DVD goes for 170 minutes and you can hardly stop playing it to learn more. This material would be shocking and almost un beliveable for the uninitiated. It does come from a christian standpoint but it it uses historical research to back it findings. Most shocking is the interview with Benjamin Creme - a name I had not heard since the 1980's, as I did some research on this guy back then and was amased to see he is still alive and still talking about the coming World Leader "Maitreya" - I am now trying to get a hold on the next series. This is a must have DVD!

I bought this video as a tool to wake up my George W. Bush loving parents. For over a year I have been trying to get them to see the truth of whats going on with news stories and Youtube videos; nothing seemed to be reaching them. BUT--- All I had to do was sit them down to watch just 30 minutes of this (after a bunch of complaining on their part, I told them thats all they had to sit through) and after that their eyes were open. Wide open. Quite a slap of scary reality. What makes this video good is it's WELL DOCUMENTED and sited. You just can't argue with it's facts (these people have seriously done their homework). And the video also interviews Freemasons and has them put their own feett in their mouths as further proof. As someone who woke up a few years ago, (and has been researching and reading daily) I thought I knew alot. Well, I learned more than I ever wanted to know from this awesome video. Its a must-buy. I actually bought two so I could spread the news.

This movie is really really long.. it felt like it went on forever. But it was really interesting and they really backed everything up with well documented evidence

Riddles in Stone - Secret Mysteries of America's Beginnings Volume II: Secret Architecture of Washington, D.C.Secret Mysteries of America's Beginnings: The New Atlantis -- Volume 1 These DVD's are not for the faint at heart. They speak truth to power. Once you know you can't go back to not knowing. So don't look at these DVD's if you want to continue in the your present state of ignorance, inhumanity, and false perceptions of your own reality. This information is everything you have already been taught, just now it is the other factual, real, true side of the story. And last, you don't have to believe them, do your own research and I guarantee you will conclude that there is another side of the story. Also after these two DVD's mentioned above you might want to check out other DVD's such as: EndgameEndgame: Blueprint for Global Enslavement and Terrorstorm Terrorstorm - A History of Government Sponsored Terrorism and Iraq for Sale IRAQ FOR SALE: THE WAR PROFITEERS / (SUB) - IRAQ FOR SALE: THE WAR PROFITEERS / (SUB) Good viewing.

Eye of the Phoenix - Secrets of the Dollar Bill Eye of the Phoenix - Secrets of the Dollar Bill

Reviews

Fascinating film. If you've ever wanted to know the real story behind the "Great Seal of the United States" this is for you. Mysticism, occultism and politics combine to create a symbol that is perplexing and mysterious. Chris Pinto has done another (See: America's Beginnings and Riddles in Stone)great job bringing experts together to tell the tale of Freemasonry and the influence on the US.

This is the third volume in series. It deals for the most part with the occult history surrounding Great Seal on the dollar bill. While there is lot of new information presented, some stuff you probably already know. For instance, even though the dollar bill says 'In God we trust', the question is: of which 'God/god' does it speak? Of course it is plainly evident that pyramid with an all-seeing eye is NOT a Christian symbol. So, the Christian origin of the seal is ruled out. Well, if you interested in this subject, and especially if you seen two previous films in the series, you might want to see this one as well. Of course, you will have to make your own judgment about the information presented. It may be true, partially true, or mostly false. I don't think I am qualified to say much in regard to the information presented, but some data is simply historical and deals with geography and specific people. For instance, a person still can visit a museum of Roerich, and they do affirm that Roerich had his part in designing a dollar bill. For instance, a person at museum said " ... to have that Mason symbol put on the dollar bill, so that every resident of the US is connected to Rorich through the dollar bill." So, there is no hidden conspiracy or anything about that. It is plain and simple. Generally speaking, it was informative even though I recognize that there is a room for dispute on some topics presented. I recommend you to take it with a grain of salt, but nevertheless to watch it (if this sort of material is of interest to you). good fight dot org is where you can find list of great videos

I haven't seen this DVD, but my book Eye of the Phoenix: Mysterious Visions and Secrets of the American Southwest (Adventures Unlimited Press, 2008) has been out for a year now. [...] It seems these people could have at least googled the title before releasing it.

Eye of the Phoenix gives information on the dollar bill that you will not find in any other documentary. Incredibly, this film refutes ideas that the symbols on our currency are not based in the occult, proving that they were put there by men who saw them as Satanic/Luciferian icons. I don't want to reveal too much, but this is proven beyond any doubt. FDR and his Secretary of Agriculture, Henry Wallace (both 32nd degree Freemasons at the time) surrounded themselves with a collection of Theosophists, Masons and Rosicrucians -- among whom was Russian mystic, Nicholas Roerich. Lots of info. on Roerich and his ecumenical paintings which were designed to introduce Eastern Mysticism to Western culture -- to promote universal archetypes that would inspire a global consciousness. The film also reveals how Roerich was the one who, as the "guru" to Henry Wallace, influenced the placement of the Great Seal on the back of the dollar bill. "Phoenix" is the third part in the documentary series, "Secret Mysteries of America's Beginnings" -- and many are saying this is the best of the three. This is partly because the film also addresses our current economic crisis, something predicted by researchers for years, long before anyone even knew who Barack Obama was. The film suggests that the symbolism of the eagle is really a cleverly disguised Phoenix, the ancient mythical bird that destroys itself by fire. Strong evidence is presented that this symbol implies the intentional destruction of the U.S. dollar by secret societies, who plan to use the collapse of our currency as an opportunity to create a global economy, in order to further the New World Order. Also fascinating is the research into the Stone of Destiny, a legendary artifact that Roerich claimed to have in his possession, and which Henry Wallace wrote about. In the occult, the stone is said to have come from the crown of the archangel Lucifer, and is supposed to empower world unity. Some occultists claim that Roerich gave part of the stone to the League of Nations for this purpose.

Either a skeptic or full-on believer will thouroughly enjoy this unique "history lesson". Not only does it reveal how our dollar bill came about, but it identifies all the key figures involved! Those included are some of the most famous of American history taught to us in grade school! On top of that, it reveals the true intentions of our politicians and those that influence America's policies, and takes it all the way to present time, to where our most powerful leaders intend to take us! Without a doubt, mind-blowing!!!! An absolute must-see for anyone who cares about our country and our future!
